The Story of my life

Hello there, pleased to welcome you 😇
Allow me to introduce myself!
Prem (23), Internaut from Mumbai, India

I have had an interesting upbringing as I celebrated 12 years of existence in BAPS hostels across Mt. Abu & Nagpur. As I grew up, my life goals changed from becoming an Astronaut to a Philosopher to a Psychologist to an IT Engineer and finally becoming a catalyst in tech for social good.

I pursued Computer Engineering (2016-2020) at ACE, Mumbai University, where I discovered the potential of this city of dreams. No wonder, it is an ocean of opportunities, where I got to float around and explore the unexplored. I remember starting an online community and blog, back in 2016, titled “Connecting Emotions” where I used to help address some aspects of Mental Health and my amateur philosophy of life.

In mid-2018 I got the opportunity to work as a Web Developer for the Indian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (IVCA). This was followed by a series of other internships and project contributions at GoDaddy Academy, Superlative Gaming Co, Ekeeda, Meditate-a-thon and more.

Apart from volunteering for social causes, the best part about college life was organizing and participating in Hackathons, Debates and Community fests. In 2019, this led to our team winning several hackathons like the prestigious Smart India Hackathon and acing the Hack Asia Hackathon in Singapore.

In May 2019, I along with my lifeline and mentor incorporated our brainchild, an IT Consultancy startupD&C Studios intending to serve creative, customized and autopilot IT solutions with the business of online presence. Besides this, I also started leading in partnerships at “Enroot Innovation Foundation with the goal of innovating solutions for social good.

I have been blessed with exposure. This allowed me to co-develop an IEDC funded innovationThermoelectric Water Collector“. With my interest in the domains of AR & VR, I also co-published a research paper titled Leveraging Augmented Reality in E-Commerce

Interestingly, even before I graduated, in Dec 2019, I started volunteering at Global Parli, an initiative by Mayank Gandhi to Transform India by increasing farmer incomes. Fortunately, I chose to continue contributing, multitasking roles in social media, public relations, technology, CSR support, administrative assistance and more.

In October 2020, simultaneously I happened to start working as a web developer and later in digital marketing at Plant-for-the-Planet, a youth-led non-profit organization with a vision to plant a Trillion Trees. I am amazed at how we use technology to bring solutions to solve the climate crisis.

During COVID, I spent a considerable amount of time learning vital subjects like Design Thinking, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Project Management and more. The best part is that I had the chance to pursue a diploma in Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and its Sanskrit Commentaries from BAPS. At the moment, I am pursuing a course in Brahmavidya Adhyayan which sheds light on our Vedas, Upanishads and the Gita.

I must also mention two of my biggest failures. One was to develop a customized, hi-level multi-vendor eCommerce platform and another was to develop a social network for a gaming company. I have pulled out several learnings from that experience.

Over time, I helped several individuals and organizations in establishing their online presence. Like the ACE School Leaders, Nativ Farms, Bunko Junko, The Integral Ayurveda and many others.

If you ask me about my life goal, apparently I am yet to find the G-spot of my career. But the fact that I am happy and content with what I do, matters!

I might not know everything, but I certainly know people, who know everything. I am a work in progress and wish to become a Jack of all trades, Master of self 🙂
